About the Orion Nebula:

The Orion Nebula, also known as the Orion Molecular Cloud is approx. 1,344 light years away and lies within Orion's Sword, just below Orion's belt in the Orion Constellation. The main nebula is actually visible to the naked eye and looks like a fuzzy star. At it's centre is an active star forming region and contains a open cluster of very young stars known as the Trapezium. Above the main Orion Nebula is the smaller Running Man Nebula. The whole area is surrounded by vast swathes of gas and dust forming faint but complex structures.
